FinAccel

ABOUT FinAccel, the parent company of Indonesian buy now, pay later (BNPL) service Kredivo, has laid the groundwork to list in the US stock exchange by merging with VPC Impact Acquisition Holdings II, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). FinAccel used this deck to showcase its business model and financial conditions to its investors. The company started its business in 2016, when it got a seven-digit seed round led by Jungle Ventures. FinAccel specializes in providing integration to third-party online stores to allow their users to buy products instantly. The startup has also expanded to offline transactions and personal loans. In late 2019, FinAccel secured a US$90 million funding that catapulted its valuation to over US$500 million. Earlier this year, it spent US$38 million to buy a 24% stake in publicly listed Bank Bisnis Indonesia, which allowed the company to enter the digital bank sector. With almost 4 million approved customers, FinAccel says it is the largest and fastest-growing BNPL platform in Indonesia, and it plans to enter Vietnam and Thailand in the near future. Beside Kredivo, it has also launched personal loan app KrediFazz and digital bookkeeping app Halokas. The deck begins by outlining the potential of BNPL markets in Southeast Asia, a region with a huge population of unbanked people and rising ecommerce adoption. It illustrates how FinAccel can duplicate Klarna and Afterpay’s success. The deck also gives a snapshot of the company’s plan to expand into neo-banking by putting Bank Bisnis Indonesia’s operations under Lime brand, which will offer millennial-focused saving and credit products. It further shows that FinAccel has lower customer acquisition costs and marketing spends compared to its competitors, but it’s also able to maintain revenue growth. The investor presentation ends with an appendix that provides the company’s position in the Indonesian BNPL landscape. Love to dig into pitch decks? We have more here.
